BDMS - Supplier Code of Conduct  

BDMS enforces the Supplier Code of Conduct to enhance the relationship with the suppliers and create sustainable values for all internal and external stakeholders covering the economy, society, environment, and corporate governance. In addition, the policy focuses on continuing development throughout the supply chain. Supplier performances are monitored via assessment program to ensure alignment with Supplier Code of Conduct. In case of a violation of the Supplier Code of Conduct or any factors affecting BDMS businesses, the suppliers will be revoked from the Approved Vendor List (AVL) in the procurement system.

BDMS 2023 supply chain management performance 

Supplier identification 

BDMS define critical supplier as having significant business relevance to the company and high ESG risks. The critical suppliers are assessed on business relevance factors including spending volumes, substitutable, essential services and products to the business and ESG risks such as waste and water management, health and safety and business ethics, based on sector-specific risks.  In 2022, BDMS has perform supplier screening in which the result is demonstrated as follows:

Supplier Assessment 

BDMS perform supplier desk assessment based on quality, corporate governance, society, and environment criteria.  All suppliers must complete their self-assessment questionnaires for the Company to assess its performance according to grading criteria, which ranged from A to F. Supplier graded D and F will be required to develop Corrective Action Plan in which BDMS will be monitor and provide guidance accordingly. In addition, supplier graded F will be audited by BDMS Central Procurement team to further verify their sustainability performance and provide suggestion for sustainable development. Sustainable supply chain capacity building  

In 2022, BDMS is in the process of transforming its procurement system to operate more efficiently and align with international standard to achieve sustainable supply management. Due to the transformation, the Company delayed its plan on training for both procurement officer and suppliers to take place in 2023. The training programs are expected to equipped procurement officer and suppliers with ESG knowledge and be capable of leveraging it into their job and businesses. As a result, BDMS has conducted training program as follows: 

 

Sustainable supply chain management for procurement officers 

  • BDMS conducted sustainable supply chain management for procurement officer to be equipped with ESG knowledge and integrate it into supply chain management. Furthermore, the procurement officers were introduced to relevant international standard that used to guide the management of sustainable supply chain.  

 

Suppliers’ capacity building  

  • BDMS provided training related to Supplier Code of Conduct for supplier to understand the importance of the code, and how BDMS would assess supplier performance according to ESG criteria listed in the Supplier Code of Conduct. 
  • In addition, the Company provides ESG technical knowledge in accordance with environmental law and international standards (e.g., ISO) to enhance sustainability performance in environment, safety, and human rights management. The program is expected to be organized annually to provide the knowledge for all suppliers (tier 1). 
  • In 2022, BDMS achieve the target to provide technical knowledge training to 100% of significant supplier (in tier 1).
