Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Princess Royal, graciously proceeded to the BDMS Connect Center, Lumphini District, Bangkok, to preside over the opening ceremony of the BDMS Academic Annual Meeting 2024, jointly organized by Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS), under the theme “A Road to Lifelong Well-Being Episode 2: Unlock the Healthy Longevity.”

On this occasion, Dr. Pramaporn Prasarttong-Osoth, President and Chief Executive Officer, Group 1, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited, and Chairperson of the Academic Annual Meeting, together with Dr. Narong Lertattayamanit and Mr. Siriphop Sarasas, respectfully received Her Royal Highness. Also in attendance were members of the organizing committee, executives, physicians, nurses, and staff who were present to receive the Royal Party.

On this auspicious occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Princess Royal, graciously delivered a Royal Address at the opening ceremony of the Academic Annual Meeting as follows:

“At present, many countries around the world are increasingly entering an aging society, including Thailand. The organization of this academic conference is therefore essential. With advances in medical science, we are now able to care for health in various dimensions, enabling people to enjoy well-being, happiness, and good health, free from illness. This encompasses public health, medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, as well as new medical sciences.

Especially when such knowledge is applied together with attentive and compassionate care, guided by kindness, ethics, and mercy, it will enable people of all groups and all ages to achieve stronger physical and mental health, recover from illness more quickly, and remain free from disease. This, in turn, will serve as an important source of strength for the nation in the future.”

Following this, Dr. Paisan Lertreediporn, Vice Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, respectfully reported to the President of the Ceremony on the main concept of this year’s academic conference. The conference focuses on global trends of change in various aspects, particularly environmental and demographic changes. Currently, the proportion of the elderly population is rapidly increasing due to longer life expectancy, while birth rates continue to decline. At the same time, environmental challenges are impacting the overall quality of life of the population.
