Tech-driven alliance to open doors for BDMS

Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) has partnered with Silicon Valley­based innovation platform Plug and Play Tech Center to draw on its network of global startups to incorporate new technologies into the hospital group’s business units.


Plug and Play is the ultimate innovation platform, bringing together the best startups and the world’s largest corporations. They were early investors in Google, PayPal, Dropbox, LendingClub, N26, Soundhound and Guardant Health.


“We believe a strong global network enables us to move forward more effectively. Plug and Play’s global community helps open new doors to accelerate innovations to improve and add value to our products and services,” said BDMS president Poramaporn Prasarttong­osoth, “The excellent combination of advanced medical technology and digitalisation will bring substantial value to provide better care through state-­of-the-­art technology.”


Plug and Play is a professional network that pairs startups around the world with large corporations to make business deals and co­develop products or technologies.


“We are very excited to have BDMS join the health track of our Thailand Smart Cities programme,” said Shawn Dehpanah, executive vice­president and head of corporate innovation APAC at Plug and Play Tech Center, “The engagement of BDMS will provide them access to the best digital health startups in the world and give them visibility across industries,” Mr Dehpanah said.


BDMS is joining Plug and Play’s network along with seven corporations in the Thailand Smart Cities Program including Charoen Pokphand Group, PTT Group Pic, Thaioil, K.E. Group, Filinvest Development Corporation, and Bangchak.
